We would like to say a huge good luck to Glyn from our My Homecare Yorkshire branch on this impressive fundraising challenge he has set. Glyn was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus and stomach back in February 2021 and underwent 4 courses of chemotherapy throughout April and May, before having a 5-6 hour operation on 30th June to remove half of his oesophagus and stomach. After coming through all this in relatively good health Glyn decided to do a big charity event this year as a thank you for all the help and treatment he received over the last 12 months or so.
Glyn has planned to do a ride, over 2 weeks, cycling 55 miles a day, firstly taking 5 days down to Portsmouth (approx. 260 miles), then a ferry to Ouistreham, before cycling the final 525 miles or so to Toulouse in time for the match on 12th June 2022.
Any money raised will be split 50/50 between Macmillan’s and the Prince of Wales Hospice.
